Gangtok, capital of Sikkim is the gateway of east and north Sikkim. Here the capital sprawls over a forested hill that overlooks Mt. Khangchendzonga, guardian deity of Sikkim.

We will take in all the major points of interest in and around Gangtok from the Rumtek monastery, seat of the Karmapa, Enchey monastery, Institute of Tibetology and an excursion tour to Phodong monastery and Tsomgo lake.

This tour can be used as an extension program for thoes who are visiting other parts of India or combining Nepal or Tibet.

Alternatively this tour is also suited for thoes with time constrains and would like to see and experience the culture in as short a time as possible.

Day 1: BAGDOGRA-GANGTOK (), 125 KMS
Upon arrival at Bagdogra airport you will be met by our representative & drive to Gangtok. On arrival transfer to Hotel. In the afternoon a leisure stroll around Gangtok Bazaar.

Day 2: GANGTOK
Guided sightseeing tour of Rumtek Monastery, seat of HH the Karmapas, Enchey monastery, Institute of Tibetology, Dodrul Chorten and Directorate of Handicrafts.

Day 3: TSOMGO (CHANGU) LAKE EXCURSION
Early morning sunrise at Tashi view point and then drive to Tsomgo Lake and back.

Day 4: PHODONG MONASTERY EXCURSION
Early morning excursion tour to Phodong monastery and back. Afternoon free on your own to explore or relax.

Day 5: GANGTOK-BAGDOGRA
Early morning breakfast at hotel & transfer to Bagdogra Airport for your connecting flight back home.
