| Trekking peaks of Nepal |
|
The title trekking peak may suggest that these peaks are easier to attempt than expedition peaks, this is not necessarily true.
Trekking peaks range from what is basically trekking at higher altitude which in itself can present difficulties, to peaks which are technically very demanding and in terms of difficulty can match some of the higher mountains in Nepal. |
|
Most peaks at the very least will require you to have some knowledge of crampons and snow bars. We spend time in Kathmandu going through the itinerary in detail before group departure.
Compared to Expedition peaks the regulations pertaining to trekking peaks are relatively simple. A permit is required which is issued by the Nepal Mountaineering Association on payment of the royalty fee (for more information a Royalty list is available on this page).
The outlined itineraries listed in our menu are two examples of trekking peaks which are achievable with a reasonable degree of climbing technique, Mera peak is the easiest requiring little more than determination. It should be remembered, any trekking peak, regardless of its difficulty demands respect and can be dangerous in poor weather conditions.
We have also listed below outline itineraries of other peaks which we equip for. |
