| Mustang Lo Monthang - 19 days |
This ancient hidden kingdom is limited to a few groups per year:
We visit its unique villages and walled capital, taking in the ancient monasteries, rituals and Buddhist traditions still practiced today. This provides a very special opportunity to visit an area which has been isolated from outside influence for centuries.
This remote trek is for the more adventurous walker and includes a unique look at a part of Nepal which is considered a cradle of Tibetan culture.
| Lying beyond the Annapurna is the hidden Kingdom of Mustang, an intriguing parched region, forming part of the Tibetan plateau. Untouched by the outside world, its 16th century monasteries remain active, adorned with unrivalled frescoes, thangkas and statues of gigantic deities. Mustang is a land of barley fields and quietly grazing herds. These upper reaches of the Kali Gandaki River have captured the imagination of a generation of trekkers, but has only been open since 1992. |
