Day 1: DELHI
Arrival in Delhi . Transfer to hotel.
Day 2: PUSHKAR
Early morning express train to Ajmer . Continue by road to Pushkar, a desert oasis by a holy lake.
Day 3: PUSHKAR
Day at leisure in Pushkar, to explore the lakeside with its many holy men, pilgrims and temples. Alternatively hike into the surrounding hills for superb views across the plains.
Day 4: PACHEWAR
Drive to the small village of Pachewar where we stay in the 300-year-old fort. Afternoon to explore the village and relax in the serene gardens.
Day 5: JAIPUR
A short drive to the Pink City of Jaipur. In the afternoon we visit the magnificent Amber Fort.
Day 6: JAIPUR
Morning orientation tour of Jaipur. Free afternoon.
Day 7: AGRA
Drive to Agra.Afternoon visit to theTaj Mahal, said to be the most beautiful building in the world. Day 8: ORCHHA Early morning express train to Jhansi . From here it is a short drive to the medieval temple town of Orchha , situated on the Betwa Rive.
Day 9: KHAJURAHO
Drive from Orchha to Khajuraho, a tiny village in the state of Madhya Pradesh which is world renowned for its temples, richly adorned with erotic sculptures.
Day 10: KHAJURAHO
Morning temple tour of Khajuraho. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 11: VARANASI
We travel by road and rail to Varanasi , the most important pilgrimage place for Hindus.
Day 12: VARANASI
Early morning boat trip on the Ganges . The rest of the day is free to wander through the old city with its maze of narrow alleyways, all leading to the holy ghats where pilgrims take a purifying dip in the river.
Day 13: VARANASI
Day at leisure in Varanasi .
Day 14: DELHI
Fly from Varanasi to Kathmandu , transfer to hotel. (In case flights are not available, we take a flight via Delhi )
Day 15: KATHMANDU

Day 16: KATHMANDU
Morning walking tour of Asan, Durbar Square and Swayambunath Temple . Afternoon at leisure.
Day 17: POKHARA
Drive to Pokhara, a market town in western Nepal set on a beautiful lake amid spectacular mountain scenery.
Day 18: POKHARA
A free day to go for a boat ride on the lake, hike into the hills, visit the Tibetan refugee centre or simply hire a bike and enjoy this laid back lakeside town.
Day 19: CHITWAN
Our journey takes us through the valleys of central Nepal to the banks of the Rapti River beside Chitwan National Park.
Day 20: CHITWAN
On foot, canoe or on elephant, there is the chance to see some of Chitwan’s famous rhinos.
Day 21: KATHMANDU
Return to Kathmandu.
Day 22: KATHMANDU -Tour ends. |
