| Tigers, Tribals & More - 20 days |
|
A pioneer tour across central India to rarely visited tiger reserves and tribal communities. This trip takes us through some of the least-visited parts of central India into remote tribal communities and nature reserves that are home to the largest big cat on earth - the tiger.
We head into the wilderness of Tadoba National Park in search of these magnificent highly endangered animals as this is one of the best places to see them in the wild. We'll stay in a jungle lodge here for 3 nights, taking game drives in the morning and evening when they are most active.

Leaving Tadoba we make for Jagdalpur, where most tribes still lead a life completely untouched by modernity. In the bustling markets there is a brisk trade in cattle, ethnic jewellery and food items - if you are up for it you could try the popular local snack of red ants, as well as shop for souvenirs. Moving on we take the train to Jeypore, known for its numerous stunning waterfalls, stopping to explore more tribal villages along the way for a unique insight into life in the region.
After a stay in Bhubaneswar , city of 500 temples, we head to the seaside town of Puri for time to unwind on the beach. The trip culminates in a visit to Kolkata ( Calcutta ), India 's most intense city, a fascinating, teeming metropolis with countless sites to visit. |
