Chomolhari trek - 11 days
| More
Dzongs of Bhutan
This unique trip takes in the rich historical and religious traditions of Bhutan, while breaking ground on little used trekking routes through some of the Himalaya’s most pristine regions. This is a land where ancient spiritual heritage permeates every aspect of life - where traditions remain paramount. Leave the modem world behind on this trek through time.

There is very little tourist traffic on the pristine trekking routes in Bhutan. This is primarily a positive offshoot of the country’s policy limiting tourists to 5000 a year.
One has a pleasant sensation of breaking fresh ground on treks in Bhutan, rarely seeing other trekkers as you wander through this gentle land of juniper forests, whitewashed farmhouses and natural beauty. You have an excellent chance of seeing wildlife, including herds of blue sheep, deer and the unique Himalayan Takin.

The Chomolhari trek follows the crystal clear, trout rich stream of Paro Chu, along the verdant rhododendron canopied forests and luxurious green alpine meadows. Mt. Chomolhari, one of the most beautiful peaks in the Eastern Himalaya, stands at a magnificent 7314m with thriving fortress-monasteries, age old frontier forts and sprawling yak pastures in its foreground; a truly rewarding sight for the determined trekker. Your luggage is carried by horses on this beautiful trip. The trek includes many places rich in history - Paro, Thimpu and Punakha.
